About The Music And How It's Made

Caveat

Recorded From July 10th 2025 To August 4th 2025. This album was made in my room back when I had little to no equipment at a time where I was going through a lot mentally and emotionally and the music reflects that.

Notes On 'Kissed' (Translated From My Notebook)

For the beginning I used my electric guitar on clean amp settings for the intro, until it switches and the guitar is on overdrive. There are 2 layered guitars on this track (Both are on overdrive and both are tuned to E flat) one is lead, and the other is rythym. For the drums I used a standard drum kit, nothing special. For the bass I used my electric bass on overdrive tuned to E standard. I also used two layered synthesizers, one on a standard square preset, and the other I used a modified sawtooth lead. For the static in the outro I just recorded the feedback from my amp. I made this song about the stress and struggles of romance and the feelings of love, and the song's sound is supposed to sound Shoegaze-y and was sort of inspired by the sound of 'My Bloody Valentine'.

Notes On 'Bad Things That Happen' (Translated From My Notebook)

For this I just used a standard drumkit, I used 4 layered guitars. Lead, rythym, and harmonics, guitars all on overdrive and tuned to E flat. Electric bass is also on clean settings and tuned to E standard. I also used a synthesizer layered 4 times, one is on a 'Dream' pad preset, one is on a "Lush Choir Vocal" pad preset, one is on a default sawtooth preste, and the last is on an accordion preset. This is another Shoegaze sounding song I wrote about feelings of panic and anxiousness, again, inspired by the sounds of 'My Bloody Valentine'.

Notes On 'Body' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used my acoustic guitar tuned to E standard, my drum kit, and my electric bass layered twice, both playing the same notes but one is played normally and one is played using slap. I also used a glass bottle as a wind instrument, as well as a piano, and for one part of the song I used an electric guitar on overdrive (Tuned to E standard). I wrote this song to be a sort of somber song about gender dysphoria

Notes On 'Understood' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used my acoustic guitar, tuned to E standard, electric bass also tuned to E standard, and another layered acoustic guitar playing the rythym notes, a standard drum kit, and a vocal pad preset synthesizer. This song is basically about coming to terms with grief and loss.

Notes On 'Disparaged' (Translated From My Notebook)

Acoustic guitar, tuned to E standard, electric bass guitar tuned to E standard, I used my standard drum kit but with some extra percussion elements (Bells and steel), and a synthesizer with a bass synth preset. This song is about abuse and childhood trauma, plain and simple.

Notes On 'Self Inflicted' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used an acoustic guitar tuned to E standard, electric bass tuned to E standard, a standard drum kit, 2 layered electric guitars, both overdriven and tuned to E standard, a grand piano, a violin, contrabass, and 3 layered synthesizers, one with a new age pad preset, a polysynth pad preset, and for the outro I just recorded amp feedback. This song is about suicide and self harm. This was the first song I recorded for Caveat.

Notes On 'Violated' (Translated From My Notebook)

2 layered drum kits, overdriven guitar tuned to F standard, 2 bass guitars, both tuned to drop C, one bass played normally throughout, and for the bass solo it is played in slap. I also used an overdriven guitar layered to play muted strumming and a synthesizer with a fuzz synth preset. This song is about my experience with rape and the panic and pain I felt during it.

Notes On 'Wish I Would Forget' (Translated From My Notebook)

2 standard drum kits, 2 pianos, violin, overdriven electric guitar (E standard) for muted strumming, synthesizer with taiko percussion pad, detuned sawtooth, bass synth, acid bass synth, and synth strings. I also played tubular bells. This is the first 'Electronic' sounding song I ever made. This song is about wanting to forget traumatic incidents.

Notes On 'Hopeless' (Translated From My Notebook)

This song is mostly synths and keys. I played the grand piano, an 808 drum machine, a cello, a synthesizer set to a triangle lead preset, a synthesizer set to a dream pad preset. I used another layered grand piano playing a counter melody. a keyboard playing that same counter melody, another layered keyboard, another layered grand piano, a choir synth preset on my synthesizer, another layered rising saw synth, a lofi saw synth, and a violin. As the name suggests, this song is about being hopeless.

Notes On 'Sin' (Translated From My Notebook)

For this song I did vocals and background vocals (One of the only times up to this point that I've done vocals) I used 3 layered pianos, 3 layered keyboards, 2 synthesizers with a sawtooth preset and a dream pad preset, 2 lead overdriven guitars, 2 rythym and 2 harmonic. I used an amp feedback sample and used the cable palm technique, a drum kit, a fretless bass, a standard bass, bass played in slap, and an overdriven bass. acoustic guitar, harmonica, and I sampled myself breaking a glass bottle. This song is about my experiences with rape from a former partner. It starts out slow and melancholic until it goes fast, noisy, and chaotic.

Notes On 'To Exist' (Translated From My Notebook)

Standard drum kit, gong, 2 synth strings, 2 violins, double bass, 2 grand pianos, organ piano, new age synth, choir synth, ambient lead pad synth, dream pad, and cello. This song is a bit different than the other songs, This is a lot more melodic and grand, and its sound was inspired by the sounds of 'Dead Can Dance'. This song is about the pain and beauty of simply existing.

Notes On 'Finale' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used 6 electric guitars all tuned to E standard, 2 clean guitars, one for lead and another for rythym, and 4 overdriven guitars, 2 for lead, one for rythym, and one for harmonics. 4 electric basses, all tuned to E standard, one played standard, another played slap, one played overdriven, and one five string fretless. 2 acoustic guitars both tuned to E standard, 5 layered drum kits, a violin, ocarina, harmonica, 2 layered keyboards, 2 layered pianos, 5 synthesizers, heavy saw, dream pad, low saw, and strings synth presets, I sampled my amp feedback and also used a technique of rythmically pressing an instrument cable plugged into an amp against my palm to create ryhtmic static. For the end of the song I sampled part of an unreleased song I made. This song is meant to sound very loud and chaotic and aside from being the final song of Caveat, this song is simply about death and nothingness.

Notes On 'Caveat Album' (Translated From My Notebook)

I made this album when I was in a really bad and unhealthy headspace, hence why it is so uncoordinated and diverse. I made each of these songs to represent and let out negative feelings and traumatic experiences. This album is a passion project to outlet my pain and trauma and all of these songs were made with lots of time and care, however, do to my lack of mixing skills and music knowledge at the time, this album is very unpolished and amatuer. Recorded, mixed, mastered, written, and produced from July 10th 2025 to August 4th 2025. Most of the sounds of this album were inspired by Indie, Noise Rock, and Experimental. Inspired by bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, Xiu Xiu, Swans, Dead Can Dance, and Radiohead. Overall I feel that this album isn't my best work and it feels embarrasing how open and vulnerable I was while making it and how the music reflects that.

Trash

Recorded From August 9th 2025 To October 1st 2025. This album was made in my room right as I started doing music more professionally shortly after Caveat was released.

Notes On 'Mind Numbing' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used 4 layered drum machines, and a synth hi-hat for the drums, an amp feedback sample in a sampler, a synthesizer using dirty saw bass synth, glitch saw bass lead, vapor bass lead, a triangle saw lead, dub saw lead, super saw lead, and a keyboard. This song doesn't have much meaning, I made it right after I got home from a Nine Inch Nails concert and felt inspired. This is the first song I recorded for Trash.

Notes On 'Useless Doll' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used a drum machine, 3 layered synthesizers with a sawtooth lead preset, a synth bass preset, and a taiko percussion synth preset. I also used a sampler loaded with various industrial samples. This song, I wrote about being just another digit in the grand scheme of the world.

Notes On 'Goodnight' (Translated From My Notebook)

This song was made only using drum machines, samplers, and synthesizers but I dont remember any details, also I made this song simply because it sounded cool.

Notes On 'Pharynx' (Translated From My Notebook)

For the beginning I sampled audio of the Charlie Kirk assassination (I'll explain why later) until it leads into the main part of the song where I used a drum kit, 2 layered bass guitars both tuned to drop A, one on clean and one on overdrive tuned to C standard, and a glitch lead synth. I wrote this song shortly after Charlie Kirk was killed as a big "Fuck You" to all of the far right MAGA freaks who were trying to limit gun control and to say that guns aren't always in favor of them. I also wrote it basically to say fuck nazis and fuck gun violence.

Notes On 'Stun Mechanism' (Translated From My Notebook)

The song starts with a reversed guitar harmonic until it switches to the main riff. I used 2 layered overdriven guitars, both tuned to drop A sharp, one for lead and the other for rythym. I also used a standard drum kit, and a bass guitar tuned to drop A sharp, aswell as 2 layered synthesizers, one with a sawtooth lead, and the other with a taiko percussion synth. I wrote this song to go along with Pharynx with the same sound and premise.

Notes On 'Give Up' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used 2 layered drum machines, 6 layered synths, 2 saw leads, one bass synth, 2 glitch synths and one taiko synth. This song is basically about the struggles of being alive.

Notes On 'Repulsive Feeling' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used a drum machine, an electric bass tuned down to drop A sharp, an electric guitar on overdrive tuned to A standard for both lead, and harmonics, aswell as 3 layered synthesizers with saw lead, dub saw, and taiko synth presets. I also used bell and cymbal percussion. This song is simply just meant to make you feel uncomfortable.

Notes On 'Leaders' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used a drum machine, 2 bass synth presets, and 2 sawtooth presets on my synthesizer, and a short guitar sample from a Nine Inch Nails song. This song is about my hatred for governments and world leaders.

Notes On 'Societal Boogeyman' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used 4 layered drum machines, 7 layered synthesizers, 2 using standard bass synths, 2 using acid bass synths, 2 using sawtooth leads, and one using a vapor lead. I also used a sampler and sampled a scream from a Linkin Park song. This song is about being a minority and a scapegoat for hate.

Notes On 'I Really Could Not Care Less About Your Agenda' (Translated From My Notebook)

The song starts out with a turntable sampling the song 'Israel' off of my Siouxsie And The Banshees record. It then goes to a drum kit and a bass synth until it switches again, this time with a sawtooth lead. It then switches to the main part of the song with a sampler loaded with various minimalistcic experimental sounds layered 3 times. I also sampled various sounds like me shaking a magic 8 ball or me playing an out of tune violin. This song is about being content with not following the fascist American Israel agenda.

Notes On 'Power' (Translated From My Notebook)

Unlike most of the tracks on Trash, I played drums on this song and not a drum machine. I used synth strings, sawtooth, bass synth, harpischord synth, taiko percussion synth, saw lead, and stratosphere pad presets on the synthesizer. I also used keys, and a grand piano, and for the guitar solo I used an electric guitar tuned to B standard. The outro I used a stratosphere pad and a wind sample. This song is about the corruption that comes with powerful figures, also, for the drumbeat in the main part of the song I played the drumbeat from 'Everyday Is Exactly The Same' by Nine Inch Nails.

Notes On 'Machine Fucker' (Translated From My Notebook)

I played a standard drum kit, a synthesizer with supersaw, taiko percussion synth, dub saw lead, choir synth, triangle saw lead, rising saw lead, wailer vocal synth, 2 saw leads, and square bass lead presets. I also used a grand piano and tubular bell percussion. This song is about the dangers of rapidly advancing technology and is meant to sound harsh and abrasive.

Notes On 'Apprehension Without Compensation' (Translated From My Notebook)

The song starts out with a glitch synth preset, then starts again with 2 layered drum machines, a bass synth, a saw string synth, a sawtooth lead synth, an ambient strings synth, a new age pad and a fuzz pad on my synthesizer. This song is about my fear of where the world is headed.

Notes On 'Keep Sleeping' (Translated From My Notebook)

I used 3 very distorted out of tune pianos to give the song an uncanny feel to it, 2 dream pad presets on my synthesizer, I used 2 very distorted vocal samples (I won't reveal the origin of them) so distorted to the point that you cant make out a single word, I used an electric guitar on overdrive tuned to drop D only used for harmonics, I also used a technique of strumming the headstock strings aswell as playing the head stock with a violin bow. I also sampled static from a broken speaker, a reversed sample of me coughing, a sample of 2 knives rubbing together, and a distorted sample of a baby crying. This song is a precursor to the song 'Rotten' and is written about the same thing. This is the most experimental and unconventional song I've made up to this point.

Notes On 'Rotten' (Translated From My Notebook)

For the start of the song I used a sample of 'Hamburger Lady' by Throbbing Gristle, aswell as some various distorted screaming samples. For the main part I used 2 acoustic guitar both tuned to E standard, one for rythym and one for lead, aswell as a bass guitar for rythym tuned to E standard and a standard drum kit, and for the final part of the song I used a keyboard and 2 layered pianos aswell as a violin. This is the only acoustic song on Trash and I wrote it about a period of time where I was at my lowest. I was in bed for about a week straight only getting up to go yo the bathroom and I was barely ever eating, it was just me, my tears, and my thoughts and I just felt rotten.

Notes On 'Trash' (Translated From My Notebook)

Overall I think that this is, and forever will be my best album, I had a good time making it, but it was also excrutiating as it took so long and so much work along with the fact that I was so busy and mentally fried while making it, and mixing and mastering it was absolute hell because of my shitty old computer and how time consuming it was, but in the end, I'm glad I made it. As for the context of the music itself, it was made during a period of time where the world was going crazy politically and I feel like the music reflects that, as where my last album was more about personal and individual things, this one is more about bigger and more wide issues. As for the sound, I made it very industrial and harsh compared to the previous more acoustic stuff and I really like the sound, industrial being one of my favorite genres of music. Overall, I am very proud of this album.
